PBS HEALTHCARE
PBS has created a separate divisional entity within the PBS group of companies known as “PBS Health.” The Primary objective of PBS Health is to continue with the long term relationship we have with AusAid, New Zealand Aid, Fred Hollows Foundation, Ministry of Health Fiji and Community groups to ensure a common direction for compliant, efficient and modern Healthcare facilities.
In 2010 we were contracted to undertake a Design Build contract valued at $2M to build 4 new operating theatres utilized by general surgeons, orthopedic, ophthalmologist, obstetrics, gynecologists and dental surgeons at CWM Hospital. In December 2012 PBS signed a $10M refurbishment and extension of the East Wing operating theatres complex including a new PARU, Recovery Unit, Critical Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit and Burns Unit. These specialist facilities such as the Neurology, Cardiac and Orthopedic theatres will change the total perception of Healthcare in Fiji.
The Lautoka Hospital contract is PBS’ third major Design and Build project. The PBS Healthcare team produce the master plan to ensure intent and a common goal from all parties to not only achieve the best possible outcome but to create free flowing, procedure base designs in conjunction with traffic management, public flow rates, civil and infrastructure requirements. Design parameters and minimum status for all facilities designed and constructed by PBS over the last 4 years in Fiji have been in accordance orbetter than the Australasian Health Care Guidelines.
